ABOUT ME

Hi, it's me, the webmaster! I go by a lot of different names, but you can either call me Frankie or Kim. I'm currently in my 20s and working in retail, but in a perfect world, I'd be the artist pet of some fabulously rich woman who funds all my artistic ventures and feeds me grapes.

What kind of art do I make? Well, I went to college for storyboarding and concept art, but my talents are spread out pretty evenly. I draw, I write, I design, I make comics, I craft, I sew... if I had the cash, I'd get into jewelry and metalwork, but my budget can only stretch so far. And there are only so many hours in a day..

Besides art, one of my biggest interests is comedy! Sources are out on whether I'm actually funny- but I make myself and my friends laugh, so who really cares? I've loved performing comedy since I was in fifth grade, when my teacher had a friend and I recite "Who's On First" in front of our class. Comedy's such a fascinating genre to me. The good, the bad, the utterly confusing... while I, like most people, prefer it when comedy's good, I can't deny that I have a soft spot for the really trashy stuff. I've got a higher tolerance than most people when it comes to it, which you can probably blame on me rotting my brain with the Bottom Live shows when I was in high school.

For most people, there is nothing to gain when watching a bad comedy. When watching a bad action or horror movie, you can at least find comedy in its ineptitude. But where is the comedy in something that is meant to be funny and failing horribly? Who knows! I manage to find it though. And sometimes watching things that are unfunny helps you learn what does and doesn't work when writing comedy, so maybe there's some educational value in it after all (But it helps that I'm easily entertained).

I'm also pretty into occultism. I know, how witchy of me. Crystals, tarot cards, astrology, the works. While I’m not the type to immediately judge someone based on their zodiac sign, I’d still consider myself a fairly superstitious person- I always carry an evil eye amulet on me when I go out, I make sure to knock on wood to avoid jinxes, and I’m always on the lookout for little messages from the universe on what I should be doing with myself.

Now, you might be asking: do I really believe in all this? Is there really something (or someone?) in the vast universe that's looking out for me in particular? Well, it's hard to say. But believing in all these little things is good for the soul, in my eyes. Bad things might happen to me, sure, but I always fight to find the little bit of good that can come out of it. That's why the Wheel of Fortune is my favorite tarot card- it's all about luck, cycles, and karma coming back for you. It's nice to imagine someone's in your corner.
