Blowing the dust off of this place...
So, in case you couldn't tell by the lack of activity, I've been pretty busy! My first year back at college went pretty well-- and with it comes my mom asking me about what kind of art job I want to get. Sigh. In a perfect world, I'd be scriptwriting and doing freelance character design... but that's not really a job you can have if you value having food and a roof over your head. My advisor says I should look into working in Data Visualization, which sounds nice. I was working in more science-y classes this spring semester, and I definitely wouldn't mind having a job in it... regardless, this upcoming semester is for figuring out, for real, actually, what I'm going to do with my life. I can't keep working at Dollar General forever, right?
I got to actually get out of the house for Pride Month this year. I even went to the NYC Pride Parade! I made an aromantic pride tank top and everything. It sucks that there wasn't any aro merch, though... well, I guess that's to be expected from a big pride event like that. That's one upside of smaller pride events-- they always overcompensate and have merch for the microdentities. I'm really glad that I figured out I was aro. I spent sooo many years assuming there was something fundamentally wrong with me and how I experience affection, and... nope, this is actually pretty normal. Score one for Kim!
